The wounds were never my fault.
Despite what some spiritual teachings may have you believe.
I never asked for the things that happened to me to happen. In no way, shape or form.
They were caused by the forms that chose to behave in the ways they did for themselves.
Not because of me.
But if it makes you feel better to feel as if they were caused by you then you are free to choose to feel that way too.
I get it. It feels better to feel that way because what we have control over we can change.
Everything touches everything.
And even though my wounds were not caused by me, I still feel as though I have control over my own healing.
I don’t need to feel like I take the blame to be able to heal.
Placing blame or taking blame does not change how you currently feel.
You may feel it does in the moment but when you have a moment alone to yourself what you discover may be different.
The wounds may not be yours to be blamed for, but your healing is your responsibility.
So however you feel you need to begin to heal, whatever works best for you, is probably a good place to start.
It may shift and evolve as you discover more and heal more and love yourself more.
We all have a starting point.
As the saying goes – never judge or compare your day 1 with someone else’s day 256.
Your journey is your journey alone.
