Tips for managing life

I remember at the start of covid, myself and two friends had taken ourselves on a hike.

I had parked far away so by the time we finished our 4 hour long journey we didn’t want to walk back to the car.

We asked an Asian man who we happened to be walking next to whether he would be willing to give us a lift to his car and he said yes.

His next statement was but aren’t you scared?

He proceeded to tell us how he had experienced a lot of different behavior towards his self and how he was going home in 2 days because he didn’t want to be in Australia anymore.

We thought it was sad.

And now, this separating, angry behavior is happening to everyone who doesn’t follow a narrative.

As I did in the beginning of 2020 I will continue to live as I do and treat people with love and respect and like a human.

And I hope you will join me.

Enough with the i’m doing the right thing and you aren’t comments.

Truth is subjective. Which is why I will never tell you what to do with your body, especially not for my benefit.

As someone who has experienced rape that is exactly what the government is doing to our bodies if we let them.

If you wouldn’t have chosen to participate if they hadn’t threatened you with not being able to travel, you my friend have been coerced and therefore it is rape.

If you wanted it before it was even out then that’s amazing and you chose for you.

If this wasn’t you, and you got it to keep your job or travel or protect your loved ones, that’s not a choice.

It simply isn’t.

And I send strength to those who are feeling upset that they were forced.

Doing ANYTHING against your will is not ok, and effectively will have an effect on your body, whether you know it or not.

If you don’t already know start looking into ways to somatically process emotions.

Start looking into ways to support your mind, body and soul.

You matter, how you feel matters and no one gets to tell you that isn’t the case.

So after telling you that story I would love to share some tips for managing your life.

The good news is that from getting organized to maximizing your time, there are some easy ways to stay focused and achieve your goals

1.What Areas Need the Adjustment?

Watching Netflix may be more entertaining than cleaning the shower but it won’t keep your home from becoming a pigsty you don’t want to live in. Establishing and sticking to priorities will help you spend less time worrying about what needs to be done and more time accomplishing your goals. Consider using Sunday evenings, when you might normally mourn the end of the weekend, to go over weekly goals and priorities. This is a great way to stay focused on what you want to accomplish without getting ahead of yourself.

2. Cut Out the Clutter

If you’re like most people, myself included, you keep possessions well beyond their usefulness. When neighbours begin mistaking your garage for abstract art, you have a problem. Consider selling old appliances, clothing and furniture that add clutter to your life; to avoid the hassle of a garage sale, use Web sites such as eBay and Gumtree to sell secondhand goods. We invested in some shelving units for our garage and it helped so much with clutter.

3. Find a company to volunteer with

This is my favourite thing to do. Pledging to be more active in your community is a goal that fills your heart more than it makes life easier to manage. But this in turn makes living life much more enjoyable. Instead of shying away from volunteer opportunities, make a point to reserve some time for charities or functions. Non-profit organizations are flexible when it comes to working with volunteers.

None of these tips will take effect if you don’t implement them into your daily routine. It only takes a couple days of procrastination before you’re overwhelmed by daily tasks and confused about what to do next. You will change your habits only by being proactive and setting constant reminders. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. By being patient with your progress and approaching your goals sooner rather than later, you may have some great accomplishments to celebrate.

So let’s all put down the reins of our sleds and take each other’s hands and continue the journey TOGETHER.

More love, not less ❤️
