A random get to know me post

10 things you might not know about me:

1: None of my wedding dresses cost me more than $300, the cheapest was $70. One I even designed and had made.

2: I was once told I was a disappointment in my family for leaving school early and that if my siblings did the same it would be my fault because they had high hopes for me. I am the oldest of 5 siblings and so is my hubby.

3: I have a scar on my right hand from a crab bite when I was 6 years old. I’ve always said it was my totem marking me as I am a cancerian. I cut my foot open at the same beach on a shell around the same age and was scared a shark would eat me when mum took me into the water to rinse my foot off.

4: I now love sharks, and have cage dived with great whites as well as swam with sharks in 3 different countries. I swim towards them not away. One day that habit may get me bit 😅 although being the Merfairy I am I think I’ll be fine 😝

5: I am a transmuter. I struggle with labels but this one resonates more than any other I’ve heard. It means I neutralize the negativity and darkness by diving into it and releasing my light. I transmute past karma and as a part of this I choose to heal my ancestral line. Sometimes a choice I wish I hadn’t made to be here but one I deeply cherish as well. When I journey I go deep quickly, and it’s not just for me.

6: I am obsessed with learning new things about myself and new skills but I then get bored easily too. In high school I learnt to play guitar and saxophone. Skills long forgotten now besides remembering how to play Come as You Are by Nirvana on guitar. Recently I have been learning Spanish but would love to re-learn Te Reo for my own heritage.

7: I have a deep reverence for plant medicines and do not think they need to be sat with all the time to get your answers. There are many using it as another form of escapism and no reverence for the people and the lands the medicines come from IMO.

8: I love finding things out about my heritage, but have been told to let it go by some family members. Which makes me even happier that I have lived my life deciding to not have secrets because then they cannot own me.

8: I have moved approximately 21 times, including countries, in my life and the house my hubby and I built has now been my longest stay, which is 7 years. Sometimes I feel guilty for wanting to Vanlife when I know other cultures get looked down on for living it out of necessity rather than choice. “It’s only cool if you have white priviledge”

9: In Ecuador I met a man named Jesus at the bottom of the Teleférico who offered to drive me around Quito for the day and I said ok and we went on fun adventures. Not all strangers are going to kill you. But I did send a photo of his business card to my hubby just in case 😅

10: I love building things and volunteering and combined these two when I volunteered for Habitats for Humanity in Fiji in 2017. Volunteering is a big passion of mine and I can’t wait until I can travel and do this again.

Was that random enough? I would love to hear something about you that I may not know ❤️
